Old and awkward sketch from last year

This illustration is pretending to be from a comic about that time Kim and Ramona ran away together and were awesome.
Oh, yeah - I picked up my winnings from the Ramona Style competition yesterday! I was really excited and it was all super sweet <3

the-left-one asked: Hey :) Just found your blog, and i love your style !! I was just wondering about your process ? The stuff that looks like its been done with watercolor, is that digital or scanned in? Keep up the great work n__n

Hey! Thank you so much! ^^

I feel like a butt for answering so late. But I got a few asks like this, and figured I’d post one of them and show a bit of my process (just a quick tell and nothing helpful really…) So here we go:

Hey look. A character I sketched a lot during the summer 2012 (the gash in her forhead is a third eye but I’m not sure that’s all clear here)

keekeylu7 asked: what kind of supplies would a beginner cartoonist would want to use for there first dept to make a comic? also what drawing school did you go to?

Any supplies they can find!

It’s really not the supplies that matter - it’s getting the stories and pictures out there. Supplies-wise I think that the most important thing is to find something that you’re comfortable working with. Try as many different techniques and supplies as you can - but don’t go buying a bunch of expensive junk just because someone else is using it. Knowing what other artists use can be helpful when trying to find your way, but there are no magic supplies that make comics great. …If there are I have never been near them and please give them to me…

I’m sorry I can’t give you a more specific answer than that. I think it’s essential to find your own way of doing things.

I hope this is helpful anyway!

I haven’t really studied at any artschool… I studied animation for a year but other that that I’ve just been doing things on my own.

Hourly Comics Day yesterday! I’ve never tried this before but it was really fun. My day was rather slow as I took a break from working on stuff that I should be working on…
